I was absolutely shattered to hear the news about this amazing man passing. I grew up watching his movies and i feel like he was a big part of my childhood. So in honour of this wonderful man i thought i would share my top 5 Robin Williams movies.
There are a few that i havent seen and my favourites may differ from others. As hard as it was i narrowed it down to 5 and here they are:
#5
One hour photo
Now ive heard a few people say they didnt enjoy this movie very much but i loved it!
Robin playing this lonely man who becomes obsessed with a family whose photos he develops. Its just a really haunting movie and just felt a loy of compassion for Sy (the main character).
#4
What dreams may come
After dying in a car crash Chris (the main character) searches the afterlife for his wife Anne.
This movie was so visually stunning and really moving. The love this man has for his wife is just beautiful and it really just touched my heart. I thought about this movie for a long time after i watched it.
#3
Hook
This movie is kind of a continuation to the original Peter Pan, where a grown up peter has to go back to neverland to save his children.
This movie reminds me of my childhood. I went through a fase where i watched it everyday (literally). Its just so wonderfully made. It feels magical and you just wanted to be there with them. There really is something for everyone in this movie.
#2
Jamunji
This classice movie about a board game that comes to life is definitely a family favourite.
I remember as a child always wishing i could have a boardgame like this (despite all the horrible things that came out of it). My brother and i were obsessed and would 'play jamunji' all the time with an old boardgame and our imagination.
#1
Mrs Doubtfire
This is definitely my most beloved Robin Williams film.
A movie about a man who dresses as a nanny to spend time with his kids after his wife asks for a divorce.
As a kid i enjoyed the funny aspects of the movie, but as an adult i love the devotion this man shows to his kids. He does everything he can to spend time with his kids and i think thats really beautiful.
The tragic circumstances of Robin Willams death also brings to light the seriousness of depession. It is invisible and life threatening. So if you are feeling depressed please seek help, find someone you can talk to. Depression can be cured. Life is worth living.
Until next time
Stay fresh!
